What is on the Commissions sub-page?
What your broker costs you — total commissions, fee drag as a share of gross, cost per trade, and how many winners the fees turned into losers.
A small, unglamorous sub-page that matters enormously to anyone taking a lot of trades. Costs are the one drag on an account that is completely certain and completely ignored.
Indicators on this sub-page:
- Total commissionsThe actual money paid.
- Fee dragThat total as a percentage of gross profit.
- Average per tradeThe per-trade cost.
- Winners flippedTrades that were profitable before fees and losses after. This is the figure that makes the point.
- Commission drag by setup and by instrument — where the cost concentrates. A high-frequency setup can be paying for the whole account's fees on its own.
There are two ways to give it the numbers, and the empty state names both: enter a per-trade figure in Trade Details → Commission ($), or set default rates per instrument in Settings → Asset Registry. The second is the one to do once.
