What sets off each of the seven Pattern Alerts?
Sizing up after a loss, revenge trading, a losing streak, hitting your daily loss limit, off-playbook trades, sizing up against your own average, and trading outside your session.
Each detector reads your trades and reports a count, so the alert tells you how many times it happened rather than just that it did.
- Sized up after a lossYou increased position size on the trade straight after a loser. Reported with a count, as in "Sized up after a loss · 3×". Critical once it has happened more than once.
- Possible revenge tradeYou re-entered very soon after a loss, also with a count. Critical once it has happened more than once.
- Loss streak todayA run of consecutive losers in the current session, named by length: "3-loss streak today". Critical at five in a row.
- Daily loss limit reachedYour configured daily loss limit has actually been hit. The only one that is Critical every time it fires, whatever the numbers.
- Out-of-playbook trades todayHow many of today's trades were flagged as random rather than a planned setup. Critical at three.
- Size up against your 30-day averageYour size today is a multiple of what you normally trade, reported as "Size up 2.4× vs 30-day avg". Critical at twice your average.
- Trades outside your sessionTrades placed outside the trading hours you set in your schedule. This one is only ever a Note.
Severity is a property of what happened, not of which detector fired. Six of the seven sit at warning until they cross their own threshold and then turn Critical; the seventh never rises above a note. So the same alert can appear in either colour on different days.
Several of these need something configured before they can fire. The daily loss limit needs prop firm rules set, and the off-session detector needs a trading schedule. Without those, the detector has no line to compare against and stays quiet.
