Where are my videos stored, and how do I change the location?

On your own drive, and only there. Save videos to offers Local only, Cloud only and Both — but Cloud and Both are marked Coming soon and cannot be selected. Video archive folder sets where on disk the clips go.

Video is the one part of capture that does not reach the cloud, and it is worth knowing why before you rely on it.

Clips are large. Storing every trade's video on a server costs real money at any volume, so the current answer is that they stay on the machine that recorded them: zero storage cost, entirely yours, and nothing to delete from a server later. The trade-off is that a clip is only watchable on the computer that recorded it. Open that trade in a browser, or on a second machine, and you get a placeholder telling you the file is on the desktop. That is not a bug and it is not a sync failure.

This is also why video mode uploads one still at the close: so the same trade viewed elsewhere still shows you something real.

Setting the folder. Video archive folder takes a path, with a Browse… picker in the desktop app. It is deliberately separate from the snapshot path so you can send the heavy files somewhere else — an external drive, or a cloud-sync folder — without filling your Documents tree.

Do not clear it. Video mode needs this folder — every clip is written here and played back from here. The desktop app prefills it for you, so normally there is nothing to do. But if you empty the field, assembling the clip fails and you get an error toast — "Couldn't finalize the trade video. The raw clips were kept." — instead of a recording. The raw segments survive in your temporary folder, so nothing is destroyed, but the trade gets no clip.

Clip length is set by the two fields above: Capture before entry (sec), minimum 15, and Capture after exit (sec), minimum 5. The pre-roll figure is how much of your monitor is held in memory at all times, so a very long pre-roll costs memory continuously rather than only while you are in a trade.

Quality is not adjustable. The Video quality control shows 1080p · VP9 (default) and is disabled. There is currently one setting, not the three tiers described elsewhere.

The Video settings block only appears when Video mode is selected, and Video mode can only be selected in the desktop app — which is why there is no screenshot of it on this page. See watching a trade's video clip.
