What is an account snapshot?

A periodic copy of your whole journal, kept with your account. It is on by default, takes one a day, and keeps 30. It exists so that deleting something is not final.

It is not a screenshot. The word "snapshot" already means a chart image elsewhere in this app — on the Snapshot tab of a trade, and in Settings → Capture. An account snapshot is a copy of your data, and it lives somewhere else entirely: Settings → Import / Export → Account snapshots.

What it copies is the journal, not the pictures: every trade and all its details, your notes and market context, option legs, setups with their rules and worked examples, key levels, debriefs with their pre-market prep and report cards, your accounts, books and instruments, and your preferences. For charts and captures it stores where the image lives, not the image itself — so a restore reattaches your screenshots rather than duplicating them.

Four things are deliberately left out: your broker connections, your licence, your registered devices, and your profile. A restore is meant to bring back your trading record, not to hand back a licence or copy broker credentials around.
