What periods can a goal use?
Day, Week, Month, Quarter, or Custom. Custom takes explicit start and end dates.
The period decides which trades count, and it rolls — a Day goal measures today, a Week goal measures this week, and each one resets when its window does.
Custom is for the fixed windows that are not calendar windows, which in practice means prop firm evaluations. An evaluation that starts on the 14th and runs until you pass does not fit a calendar month, so a custom goal with a start date and an end date measures the thing you are actually being judged on.
A goal can be scoped to one account, or left across all of them. That pairs with the period: a prop firm pass target belongs to the evaluation account, not to your whole book.
The period and the type are independent. A profit factor goal over a quarter is as valid as a P&L goal over a day. Pick the window that matches the behaviour you are trying to change — short windows for discipline, long windows for performance.
