Should I delete a trade or edit it?
Almost always edit. Only delete when the trade record itself is wrong — a duplicate import, or a fill that never happened.
Step by step
- If what's wrong is a note, a tag, a setup, a session, or any market context, just edit it. All of that stays editable forever on every trade, no matter where it came from.

- On a trade you typed in by hand, you can edit those directly.
- On a CSV or broker-synced trade they're locked, to keep the imported record matching
- Delete only when the whole row shouldn't exist. A duplicate from importing the same file twice is the usual case.

Before deleting a duplicate, it's worth checking the import actually created one — the importer is built to recognise a file it has already seen and update rather than duplicate.
